facilities | intro lab

facilitiesThe introductory sequence of physics courses is accompanied by a concurrent laboratory component. The lab sections have several dedicated learning spaces, where the facilities include:

  • A diverse collection of experimental equipment dedicated to the study of motion and force
  • An array of Macintosh computers equipped with sensors to acquire and analyze data
  • Several electronics components:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Breadboards for circuit design and construction
    • Digital multimeters
    • AC function generators
  • Helium-neon lasers for diffraction and holography experiments
  • Spectrometers for measurement of atomic spectra
