teaching interests

Dr. Sheffield teaches a number of physics and astronomy courses at all levels, including Advanced Observational Astronomy.

research interests

Dr. Sheffield's research interests are galactic structure and stellar populations. She is particularly interested in the formation of the Milky Way as revealed through the chemodynamical evolution of the Galactic thick disk. She observes late-type stars in the Milky Way for her research.
