Introductory Lab

Students studying free fall at the Athletic Center

The introductory sequence of physics courses is accompanied by a concurrent laboratory component. The lab sections have several dedicated learning spaces, where the facilities include:

  • A diverse collection of experimental equipment dedicated to the study of motion and force
  • 24 Ipads equipped with sensors to acquire and analyze data
  • Electronics components:
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Breadboards for circuit design and construction
  • Digital multimeters
  • AC function generators
  • Magnetic field experiments
  • Helium-neon lasers for diffraction and holography experiments
  • Spectrometers for measurement of atomic spectra
